About This Project

Big Bear Crossing is located on several acres in the beautiful Montana countryside. This custom home design includes unique amenities like a 75′ long Archery Range, Coffee Bar, Breakfast Nook and Exercise Room. Dueling garages provide access into two distinct wings of the house. The double car garage is traditionally designed with Mudroom, Pantry and Kitchen accessible. The single car garage is attached to the Master Wing and provides private access into a private Mudroom, His/Her Closet, Bathroom and Master Suite. Big Bear Crossing

This custom home design and build includes unique amenities like an archery range, coffee bar, breakfast nook and exercise room.

Initial Sketch

Adding landscaping to design sketches brings a drawing to life.

The walkout basement adds considerable height to the back elevation.

Winter Dig

Received a foot of snow but still got this 12'-0" hole dug.

14'-0" Foundation Walls

Concrete is poured and insulated. Next, forms will be stripped.

Foundation Walls Poured

Complex grading demands a complex foundation wall. This First Class foundation is a great beginning to a beautiful home.

Winter Hustle

Despite the snow-filled conditions and holiday season we dug a 12'-0" hole, built a 14'-0" foundation and are completing final grading.

Timber Truss Construction

Really enjoyed visiting the hardworking crew at Big Timberwork. They are using some of my favorite hand tools to build the Great Room Timber Trusses.

Main Level Floor

The walk-out basement is built and main level floor is decked. Not bad for 4 days worth of work. This week we will build some walls and set trusses.

Wall Framing

Framing views of the Montana landscape in February. These windows will capture many more sunsets to come!

Luxury Vinyl Planks are a beautiful flooring solution. They are also extremely durable.

Spring is Here!

It's warming up and we are beginning to install all real wood siding on the exterior. The corral board was once painted black and is a great find.

The kids bath is ready to greet and grow with two little sisters.

Breakfast Nook

Custom upholstery is installed at Big Bear Crossing. All it needs now is a family of four and a cup of Cold Smoke Coffee to start the day off right.

Master Bath Vanity

His vanity is just like her vanity. Each of them are accented by reclaimed wood and 48 inches of marble counter top.

Master Suite Window Seat

Sometimes Design and Build means a window seat in your Master Suite... with custom upholstery to match your furniture... reclaimed wood accents and a beautiful view.

Custom Hand Railing

This custom steel railing and grab bar was hand-forged by Montana blacksmiths. It is one of several custom details at the home we call Big Bear Crossing.
